A BONOGIN man allegedly rammed his car into the Mudgeeraba Police Station in anger at not receiving his tax refund.
Lachlan Pearson, 50, appeared in Southport Magistrates Court this morning after ramming his sedan into the police station just before 4.25pm yesterday causing extensive damage.
Mr Pearson allegedly yelled, “Hope you are dead you c****”, before proceeding to leave the scene.
He was arrested outside the neighbouring CaltMr Pearson allegedly returned a breath test reading of 0.182 at the police station and suffers from manic depression.ex service station.
Police prosecutor Sergeant Mike Campbell said Mr Pearson had allegedly been upset about paying $20,000 in tax and receiving no tax refund.
“He randomly picked the Mudgeeraba Police Station because it was the nearest government building he could find,” he said.
The court heard he had not been taking his prescribed medication for a month and was self medicating with ice and alcohol.
Mr Pearson was remanded in custody to reappear on August 16.
Magistrate Joan White said he would be allowed bail after undertaking a mental health assessment and complying with any treatment as directed by a mental health practitioner.
